Delete your account

You can delete your Zquady account yourself at any time — directly in the app or, if you no longer have the app installed, by email. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

In the app

1. Open the Profile tab and switch to the Settings tab at the top.
2. Scroll to the very bottom and tap “Delete Account”.
3. Confirm the deletion. If you sign in with your email address, you confirm once more for your security: with your password or with a code we send to your email address. If you don’t have your password to hand, or never set one because you sign in with a code, tap “Password not to hand?”. If you only sign in with Apple, Google or Discord, confirming is enough. If you signed in with Apple, you confirm once with Apple at the end on your iPhone; this also ends Sign in with Apple for Zquady.

Without the app (by email)

Email us from your account’s email address at privacy@zquady.com with the subject “Delete account”. This also works if you can no longer get into your account. We will delete your account within 30 days and confirm the deletion by email.

What gets deleted

Deletion takes effect immediately. Deleted are your sign-in data including linked sign-ins with Apple, Google or Discord, your profile including your profile photo, your memory photos, your messages (including those in other people’s group chats and both sides of your direct chats), the Zquads you created — including their group chat, memberships and the other participants’ memory photos —, your memberships, requests, lists, settings and your push token.

What remains — and for how long

• Abuse reports until 12 months after they have been dealt with. If you filed a report yourself, we remove your identifier from it.
• Copies of reported content or content we removed — locked and accessible only to us — until 12 months after our review has been completed, or until the end of any ongoing proceedings before an authority or court.
• Entries on the block list, if your account was suspended: check values only, not the details themselves, until the suspension ends, three years at most.
• Error and crash reports: 90 days at most. We remove your user identifier from our own error reports immediately; crash reports at Sentry may still contain identifiers from the app’s most recent requests until then.
• Automatic notices in group chats with your username at the time, such as “@Name has joined”: until the Zquad is deleted.
• Emails to us, such as support enquiries: three years after completion at most.
• Log of your direct messages to our Instagram and Facebook profiles: up to 60 days.
• Backups: our backend provider's technical backups for up to 7 days, our own encrypted database backups including recycle bin and snapshots for up to about four months. After that, the data is gone from them as well.
